Elephantine Island
Elephantine Island is a peaceful island with a rich history. It is traffic-free with no cars or roads. The island has two villages and the local Nubian population welcome visitors to their community. There is a small museum on the island.
You are free to explore the island by yourself or we can arrange to show you around.
The public ferries to Elephantine Island run every few minutes from 6 am until midnight. They leave from the jetty near to the KFC in Aswan.
There is a very small charge. After midnight you will need to arrange a private boat transfer and this is more costly. We can help organise this.
We can also meet you in Aswan or collect you from the airport and transfer you by car and motorboat for a small additional charge.

Excursions further afield
Overnight Felucca Trips to Kom Ombo or Esna: We have our own well maintained feluccas and these are available for trips of up to 4 days. On overnight trips all meals are included. Please note that feluccas are sailing boats and overnight trips involve sleeping on mattresses on deck. Some of our feluccas have a basic toilet and shower on board and on all trips a toilet tent can be set up as needed.
Abu Simbel: There are various options and prices vary. You can fly from Aswan, can go by private limousine car or you can go by shared bus/minivan. The later is the cheapest. You can also cruise from Aswan to Abu Simbel. We can advise on prices and require at least one day’s notice to arrange Abu Simbel trips.
We have links across Egypt and can arrange excursions and accommodation in Luxor, Cairo and elsewhere.
